Susan McFarlane-Alvarez is an Associate Professor of Communication in Clayton State University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Her research focuses at the intersection of postcoloniality and corporate expression. Her published works include “Human Billboarding: Peopled Publicity and a New Space of ‘Agency” in Advertising” in Advertising, Society and Review, “Bim and Joebell: Filmic Representations of (Post)Colonial Caribbean Identity” in Contemporary Caribbean Dynamics, “Trinidad and Tobago Television Advertising as Third Space: Hybridity in the Caribbean Mediascape” in the Howard Journal of Communication, and “The Quest for National Identity and Visual Sovereignty in Trinidad and Tobago Television.”
