Christina M. Knopf / SUNY Cortland

Christina M. Knopf is an assistant professor in Communication and Media Studies at SUNY Cortland. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology and communication from the University at Albany (2005) and taught in the Department of English and Communication at SUNY Potsdam from 2006-2017. Dr. Knopf’s previous work on gender and representation in comics includes essays in Gender and the Superhero Narrative (University Press of Mississippi, 2018), Cultures of War in Graphic Novels: Violence, Trauma, and Memory (Rutgers University Press, 2018), Working Class Comic Book Heroes: Class Conflict and Populist Politics in Comics (University Press of Mississippi, 2018), and The 10 Cent War: Comic Books, Propaganda, and World War II (University Press of Mississippi, 2017).
