Special Issues
***See our CFP page for recent calls for special issue submissions***
Flow has published several special issues throughout its nine-year history. Special issues differ from regular issues in that they do not include articles from our regular contributing columnists; rather we widely distribute a Call for Papers with a focus on a particular topic or event. We then accept and publish 4-7 articles that critically address the topic from a variety of vantage points and scholarly perspectives. Links to all of our special issues are included below. We hope you find them thought provoking, useful, and relevant.
- Flow Conference 2006
- Latin American Media
- Video Games
- Flow Favorites (as of 2008)
- Battlestar Galatica
- The 2008 Writers’ Strike
- Sarah Palin and the Media
- Saturday Night Live
- Social Media
- Sports Media: Tensions and Transitions
- Flow Favorites 2010
- The Archive
- Aca-Fandom
- Flow Favorites 2011
- Remembering Alexander Doty
- SXSW
Flow publishes 2-4 special issues a year, so check back regularly.
